Dr. Ghanashyam Vaidya is a renowned Indian Surgeon, educator and medical cartoonist. He is known for his highly sought after book entitled ‘General Practice’ , a book that can be extremely difficult to find outside of India. If you are lucky enough to obtain a copy, hold onto it!
In the early 1980’s, only a year after graduating, Dr. Vaidya published a series of video lectures that was entitled ‘clinical cassettes’. These are an extensive library of clinical videos with audio voice-overs that clearly outline concepts ranging from surgical pathology to ECG reading.
The ‘Clinical cassettes’ collection is one of the pillars of medical education as Dr. Vaidya was an early innovator in this field. He has pioneered the concept that educational videos ,when well-produced, are often better than traditional textbooks.
We are happy to announce that Dr. Vaidya has re-launched his ‘clinical cassettes’ on YouTube with updated case presentations and visuals. One of the most interesting aspects about ‘cassette clinics’ is that you get to listen to a dialogue between a medical student and his professor. In these dialogues you will hear an ideal case presentation, which adds tremendous value to your learning. These are great educational resources and we highly recommend you subscribe to Dr Vaidya’s Youtube Channel.
